ROSE TATTOO Guitarist Quits Touring Because Of Cancer
June 8, 2005Australia's Undercover News is reporting that Pete Wells, founding member and guitarist for ROSE TATTOO, has had to give up touring with the band because of prostate cancer.
Wells was diagnosed two years ago and has been undergoing treatment but has had to stand aside from the band until he recovers.
A statement at his web site reads, "Apologies to TATTS fans, but Pete isn't well enough to do the current [Australian] dates and the overseas tour. An old mate, Mick Cocks is filling in for Pete."
At the Albert Records web site, a message says, "Pete would like to thank all his friends and fans for their enthusiasm and support over the years. He looks forward to playing overseas again after he's made a full recovery."
On a positive note, Pete will soon release his solo album through Razor Blade Records. He also recently co-produced an album for Brisbane's ROBBERS DOG.
